Easton’s Main Street Initiative

The city of Easton is privileged to have an award-winning Main Street program led by Kim Kmetz, manager. The Greater Easton Development Partnership, a 501(c)(3) organization, is charged with catalyzing economic development throughout the greater Easton area. It administers the Easton Main Street program as well as other economic development initiatives including the Easton Ambassadors program.

The Main Street Initiative, which was ranked by the state as #1 in 2009 and #2 in 2010 out of the state’s 80 Main Street programs, covers a 20 square block radius and has four central mission points. They are as follows:

  1. Organization of human resources and finances to maintain this revitalization program;
  2. Promotion of the commercial district through marketing;
  3. Design of the physical properties for enhancement and improvement; and
  4. Economic restructuring to help expand and diversify the businesses in the district.
